Carborundum & Drypoint
Discover the art of printmaking with Catherine Greenwood’s etching workshop, featuring an innovative approach to adding line and tone using carborundum paste and drypoint etched lines. Spend the morning developing your plate and preparing to print in monochrome or color with oil-based printing inks on premium Somerset paper. Craft a unique A4 plate and take several exquisite prints home with you.
This workshop is ideal for both beginners and seasoned artists ready to master new techniques in a professional, creative environment. Join us and discover a new way of printing. This workshop is suitable for ages 18+.
Location
- West Hove Studios has been recently renovated and hosts a beautiful Ironbridge press; the art studio regularly holds workshops of many different disciplines.
There is paid parking on the road outside.
There is a well stocked art shop- Jacksons on the Portland road with it's own carpark for customers at the rear.
There are many cafe's on the Portland road.
Refreshments
Hot drinks and snacks will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own if you have special requirements.
Materials
All materials including drypoint plastic or aluminium plates, etching needles and use of inks, scrim, tissue and newsprint will be provided.
Accessibility
West Hove Studios is a ground floor art studio with wheel chair access from the road side. Please note, regrettably there is not yet an accessible toilet facility. Please email if you would like to discuss your needs or if you would like a carer to attend the workshop with you. (Carer's would be free of charge)
